Tim Byres Wins People's Best New Chef 2012
Results from Food & Wine's People's Best New Chef poll were announced, and it looks like Dallas won big, with Smoke's Tim Byres taking the majority of votes.
Why Byres is amazing (according to Food & Wine): "He goes beyond just barbecue, with an in-kitchen wood grill and smoke pit for smoking or curing almost every dish on the menu."
Restaurant North chef (and Danny Meyer alumnus) Eric Gabrynowicz won in the New York area; Étoile's Perry Hoffman won in California for his duck breast with Mission figs in Napa Valley; and Monarch's Josh Galliano won for the Midwest region.
