The St. Regis Brings Ice Skating And 6-Foot Gingerbread Houses To Atlanta
There are a lot of traditions people think of when the holiday seasons begins, from ice skating to making gingerbread houses (it's not as easy as it looks), so The St. Regis Atlanta is pulling out all the stops for their guests this year. The luxury hotel is bringing back their sixth annual Astor Holiday Ice Rink, which will be set up underneath a sheer tent in the 40,000-square-foot Pool Piazza. Open from November 21 to January 4, 2015, the tent will not only keep skaters unbothered by chilly winds, it will also be illuminated in white lights and full of holiday music. If you're not a very good skater, that's okay, because you can at least take some Instagram selfies to make it look like you're a pro.
Anyone who has ever tried to make their own gingerbread house knows that it's not exactly easy (my roof always slides off), which will make the six-foot one from the property's very own pastry chef, Michael Craig, all the more impressive. The house, which will be a replica of the hotel, will be showcased in the grand lobby entrance.
Guests will also be able to enjoy Afternoon Tea Rituals, including Holiday Tea (November 28 to December 24) and Tea With Santa (November 28-30).
