Shacktoberfest, Shake Shack's Oktoberfest Celebration, Is In Full Swing

You know it's Oktoberfest in America when the puns start flying — first Rocktoberfest, and now Shacktoberfest at Shake Shack, Danny Meyer's cultish burger joint, which is running their much-loved special Oktoberfest menu through Oct. 21. That means 25-ounce steins filled with their signature ShackMeister Ale or Brooklyn Brewery's Oktoberfest beer for $10 (with refills for $7). And, of course, the glass is yours to keep.

Not yet 21? You can still join in the Shacktoberfest-ivities by chowing down on three types of bratwurst: a spicy brat (Andouille sausage and German slaw), currywurst (with crispy, ShackMeister Ale-marinated shallots and curry ketchup), or Bavarian brat (straight-up bratwurst and mustard). There's also the Cheddar brat burger, a burger topped with a flat-top griddled Cheddar bratwurst, more of those ShackMeister Ale shallots, and ShackSauce.

No trip to Shake Shack is truly complete without one of their decadent Concretes, and this year's special dessert is a German Chocolate Pecan Concrete, melding chocolate custard with coconut-pecan caramel and chocolate truffle cookie dough. Like your sweets ingested through a straw? Try an Apfelstrudel Shake with vanilla custard, apples, caramel, and spices.

Whatever your course of Shack-tion, Shake Shack will have a punny word — and maybe a menu item or two — to satisfy.
