DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – One day after the Center For Disease Control confirmed Nina Pham, 26, has Ebola, her father told CBS 11 News she's "in fine spirits."

"Of course I'm scared," said Tien Pham after speaking to his daughter, Nina Pham. "She has a little bit of a fever," he continued, but said she doesn't have diarrhea or nausea."She said she is doing fine ...so far, she's not worse," said Pham.

The nurse at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, who is a 2010 graduate from Texas Christian University's nursing program in Fort Worth, wasn't able to pinpoint exactly how and when she contracted Ebola.

"A close family friend told KRLD's LP Phillips that they are in shock and Pham's mother is "devastated."

Health officials are still working to determine how Pham, who cared for Ebola patient Thomas Duncan in Dallas contracted the deadly virus. She wore protective gear while treating the Liberian patient, said Dr. Tom Frieden, head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Frieden, said Monday Pham was "clinically stable."

Records given to the Associated Press show about 70 hospital staffers were involved in Duncan's care.
