Chocolate Week Brings Salon Du Chocolat To London

During the week of Oct. 14-20, London and other cities in the UK will become irresistible destinations for all chocolate lovers. Chocolate Week is returning here for the ninth year in a row, bringing out the best regional and national chocolatiers and chocolate-themed events. The week of chocolate celebrations will culminate with the world's biggest chocolate show, Salon du Chocolat.

With over 23 chocolate shows in the world, Salon de Chocolat has featured as many as 600 participants and 135,000 visitors during its biggest venue in Paris. The show-debut in London will take place Oct. 18-20, with the renowned chocolate fashion show — a collection of couture chocolate dresses designed by top fashion designers and chocolatiers — being the event highlight.

The goal of the chocolate show is "to promote fine flavour chocolate, the independent artisan chocolatiers and the chocolate companies who work in direct partnership with cocoa farmers, encouraging consumers to pay a fairer price for their chocolate," according to a press release.

Other events of Salon du Chocolat include a chocolate spa featuring chocolate beauty products, massages, and a bath filled with chocolate ganache, as well as chocolate installations such as the Hotel Chocolat cocoa tree made from chocolate. Some of the several participating chocolatiers during Chocoalte Week include Artisan du Chocolat, Rococo, Hotel Chocolat, Paul Wayne Gregory, and Lindt.
