ROLL CALL - Hamptons Summer 2012

As summer officially kicked into gear this week, we cruise through the beach towns of the Hamptons looking for all that is new and noteworthy.

SLEEP :

The guys behind Solé East have converted the Montauk classic Rojo Motel and will open the Montauk Beach House/>. The rooms have a sleek, minimalist feel and the property will also have a private membership beach club with cabanas, two pools and a grill serving cocktails.
In Bridgehampton, Tom Colicchio will open the Topping Rose House/>,a 22 room hotel, spa and year round restaurant later this summer.

EAT & DRINK :

On Shelter Island, Clark's Fish House will open at the Island Boatyard. Expect locally caught seafood in a casual setting with a fish market next door. Also at the Boatyard, the Wine Dock is a satellite tasting room and wine store for New York State wines.

The Bell & Anchor/> overlooks the marina in Sag Harbor and serves an interesting seafood menu and a wine list to match. For takeout and beach picnics, Pepalajefa/> offers a European inspired menu influenced from the owner Livia Hegner’s travels.

Sicilian inspired Osteria Salina/> is the promising new Italian in Bridgehampton. For a touch of Mediterranean, the waterside location and seafood oriented menu at Andrra/> in East Hampton will do the trick. All-day-party brunch goers will find happiness at the Meat Packing’s poster child for excess Brasserie Beaumarchais/> East Hampton outpost. Further east in Montauk, the Swallow East/> has opened up in the former Lenny’s spot and serves up small plates with a twist and the Sloppy Tuna/> has opened a rooftop restaurant and beach bar. For German beer fans, Zum Schneider/> brings their NYC biergarten to the beach serving German brews, food and wine.

Craving music? The Canal Room />has opened a Southhampton outpost.
