Ingredients
  • 4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 8-ounce can refrigerated seamless dough sheet, such as pillsbury™ crescent recipe creations™
  • 8 ounce cheese curds, any variety (about 1½ cups)
  • 8 wooden skewers
  • condiments, such as ranch dressing, sriracha, ketchup, or flavored jam, if desired
Directions
  1. In a deep fryer or 3-quart heavy saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat to 350 degrees F.
  2. Unroll the dough, and cut lengthwise into 4 strips, then cut crosswise into 8 rows, making 32 squares.
  3. Roll a piece of dough around each cheese curd (no larger than 1 inch). Stretch the dough, and press to seal the edges and completely cover the cheese curd. Repeat for the remaining cheese curds.
  4. Fry the cheese curds, 8 at a time, turning occasionally until the dough is completely cooked through and deep golden brown, about 1 minute. Drain on paper towels, and keep warm.
  5. Thread 4 cheese curds on each wooden skewer. Serve immediately with condiments if using.
