Periperi (Portugese Hot Sauce)

Try this Portugese hot sauce to spice up your lunch or dinner

I found this on a Portuguse website and thought it was good to share. I like the idea that you can use this sauce the same way you can use Tabasco sauce.

  • 1 Cup olive oil
  • 1 Cup whiskey
  • Dried bell pepper (handful)


Combine the ingredients; let stand for a month or two. Use liberally on everything.

When reducing a sauces be sure to keep an eye out and not let it burn. For extra shine in your sauce, add a pat of butter at the end.
