- 6 candy canes, finely chopped (about 1/3 cup) and divided
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
- 26 chocolate sandwich cookies, such as Oreos, finely crushed
- 4 packages (4 ounces each) semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted
Mix all but 1 tablespoon of the crushed candy canes with the cream cheese and cookie crumbs until well blended. Shape the dough into 48 1-inch balls. Freeze the cookie balls for 10 minutes. Then, dip the cookie balls into the melted chocolate and place them in a single layer in a shallow, waxed paper-lined pan. Sprinkle with the reserved candy and refrigerate 1 hour or more, until firm.
