Recap: Spoon Launch Party
Maryam's Halal kept dishes hot and bellies full while serving up traditional Halal style chicken and lamb over rice. Newly opened Asian cuisine restaurant, Wok n' Roll (located conveniently in the plaza off of Bunn Hill Road) served up lo mien and other favorites. For those who had a hankering for a college food essential, Fat Boys Pizza was there to serve up pizza and wings.
When patrons weren't waiting to sample the various food offerings, student groups including Taste Buds, a club dedicated to exploring the culinary arts and mastering kitchen cooking techniques, served up new takes on classic snacks including, sparkling jello shots and green tea flavored rice krispy treats, which were super delicious. The Food Co-op was also there selling delicious organic chocolate bars. Acoustic musical stylings were provided by singer Gabe Sierra and guitarist Chris Sta. Romana.
If free food wasn't enough to keep mouths watering and bellies full, contests including a spaghetti and marshmallow building competition, whipping cream contest and an apple peeling race provided the chance to win gift cards to Moghul's, Binghamton Hots, Kampai Japanese Steakhouse, Basha's and more. From the stacks of discarded plates and cups that scattered the room, the Binghamton Spoon University Launch Party was certainly an event that wasn't to be missed! (Click here for more photos)
