Pullman Rail Journeys Is Ready To Help You Plan Your Holiday Getaway In Chicago & NYC
Well, it's almost the holidays...or, at least it seems that way. As soon as Labor Day is over it feels as though life gets a little bit busier and before you know it, it's Thanksgiving and then Christmas (I know, I felt overwhelmed just writing that). To get a head start on your holiday plans, we thought we'd tell you about a unique excursion to do with the family.
From December 9-15, Pullman Rail Journeys will be offering a 7-day Christmas in New York City package that takes riders on a roundtrip adventure from Chicago to NYC. Onboard, guests will be treated to accommodations in upper berth cabins that feature one large picture window, premium white linens, and Pullman blankets and blue-stripe towels.
One nice perk is the room service included in your ticket price, so in the morning you can take your time getting up and ready. All other meals take place in the Lounge and Dining Cars and signature dishes include Railroad French Toast, Roast Beef Tenderloin with Madeira Demi-Glace and a Fresh Strawberry Parfait. Along with soft drinks and coffee, local New Orleans and Chicago brews will be available along with a selection of premium spirits and wines for an additional fee.
Departing from the Windy City, guests will travel past the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Shenandoah Valley and the New River Gorge to New York before checking into a luxury hotel (TBA) for the evening. From there, travelers can use the New York City Pass to discover six of the city's best attractions and bypass long lines and entry fees. Guests also have the option to see a Broadway show, take the NY See It All tour or watch the Radio City Christmas Spectacular during their stay with admission included in rate.
From the looks of it, it seems like this could really be a nice way to relax right before all the chaos of family dinners and celebrations begin. During the train portions of the trip, passengers can socialize with fellow riders in the Club, Observation and Dining Cars, or can get a little competitive with an afternoon of board games.
Rates start at $2,939 per person, double occupancy and include accommodations and private transfers between train stations and hotels. Those who might prefer not to head into the busy city can depart at the White Sulphur Springs stop and spend four nights at the Greenbrier Hotel as part of the Greenbrier Resort Holiday Package instead.
I know this seems early, but you'll thank me later. And at this rate, you could even get your shopping done before December 24. Nah, just kidding, baby steps.
