Stellenbosch American Express Wine Routes is boosting its global profile by making its debut at the world’s largest tourism convention, the 2014 International Tourism Bourse (ITB) in Berlin from March 5th to the 9th.
Stellenbosch offers visitors the granddaddy of South Africa’s wine routes, a coordinated network with the largest concentration of diverse wine farms in the country, more than 140, and it’s currently expanding to cater to a growing global demand for its product.
Now the route is combining its efforts with South African Tourism, Wesgro, Tripadvisor, and Stellenbosch 360 (the cultural tourism route for the region) to launch the Stellenbosch Wine Experience Campaign at ITB. The collaboration will include a chance for convention visitors to take part in an exclusive ‘Ultimate Wine Bucket List’ competition, where participants can win a trip to South Africa to experience one of the assorted wine routes firsthand.
The venture will also include an innovative wine tourism blogger campaign using top travel, lifestyle and food bloggers from around the world to promote the route between April and September.
