As evidenced by everyone and their mother's Instagram feeds and early Leo DiCaprio films, the beach is pretty great–as long as you manage to steer clear of "herbal" farmers and Tilda Swinton.

While this fact is unlikely to change at any point, we can think of one thing that would make it even better: not having to make the long, sunburned trek to-and-from the actual beach. Enter Shotti's Point, a beach-themed Riverside joint that used to house the beloved Paul's.

New owner Mike Shott had tried to bring about a Baltimore-themed bar to Ocean City for years, but instead has reversed course, bringing a surf-shack-like hangout to Charm City. The décor is subtle, but the relaxed vibe, long bar and loungy back area all lend itself to a mellow feel more fit for a surfer than a hipster seeking a mixologist to craft the perfect Moscow Mule. The beer selection is ample, if unimpressive, but in true beach bar fashion, Shotti's cocktails find a way to hit the spot, whether you're in the mood for a classic Dark & Stormy or something a little more tropical, like the Orange Crush (orange vodka, triple sec, fresh squeezed OJ).

If all the fun, sun and/or alcohol has worked up a hunger, chow down on Shotti's impressive eats, including four types of mussels, crab cakes, burgers and the seared tuna sandwich. And just in case the laid-back atmosphere starts to wear on you, Saturday night means karaoke night, which has quickly become one of the more legendary shows in B'more.

And the beauty of being able to indulge in it all – you don't even have to wear a bathing suit.
