Olive Garden's First Chicago Location Opening Soon

By Mason Johnson

Yes, that's right, there are currently no Chicago Olive Garden locations.

Sure, the city's surrounded by Olive Gardens acting as bright lights in the otherwise dull suburbs (sick burn), but at this very moment, there are no Olive Gardens in Chicago proper.

On Monday, September 29th, everything Chicago knows about Italian food will (probably?) change when its first Olive garden finally opens.

For the hardcore OG fans out there, I know there was recently an Olive Garden scare re: breadsticks. Will they stay unlimited? Will the evil investment firm Starboard Value (I think I've got the perfect villain for the next Muppets movie) be able to convince Olive Garden to limit their breadsticks?

No! As the LA Times reports, Olive Garden defended their unlimited generosity.

"Olive Garden's salad and breadsticks have been an icon of brand equity since 1982," Olive Garden stated. "It conveys Italian generosity and our salads have the highest loyalty rating of any menu item based on the menu satisfaction surveys we conduct."

And Monday, you too can experience "authentic" Italian generosity OG style.

Their Chicago location will be at 3555 W. Addison, in the Avondale neighborhood. First person to eat enough breadsticks to raise their cholesterol wins more breadsticks.
