Have Your Cake And Eat It Too

Date: Tuesday, October 14

Treat yourself to a plate of dessert tonight, or two. Tuesday, October 14th is National Dessert Day and the Dominique Ansel Bakery is a great place to celebrate the holiday. The Dominique Ansel Bakery is regarded as one of the best in the city and they have the menu to back it up. One dish you'll definitely want to try is their "Mini-Me Cake" (Verne Troyer not included). The cake is made of four-layers of rich dark chocolate separated by a light chocolate cream and small meringue chips adding a textural contrast on top. Dominique Ansel is also the creator of the world famous cronut, a crossiant-doughnut hybrid made of laminated dough fried in canola oil then sugared, fill and glazed. The bakery is open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and you can find a full menu on their website.
