On Monday, September 29, also known as National Coffee Day, Saturday Night Live cast member Jay Pharoah will team up with Orbit in New York City for a free gum giveaway. Jay, along with “a team of gum aficionados” will be in the streets of New York with a truck full of sugar-free Orbit gum, all the better to help coffee lovers get rid of their coffee breath.
According to a 2012 study conducted by healthcare start-up Massive Health, New Yorkers drink between six and seven times more coffee than residents of other major American cities. That’s a lot of coffee breath to deal with.
“There’s no better place for Orbit to surprise commuters with a National Coffee Day celebration, featuring sugar-free gum for everyone after they enjoy their morning coffee,” said John Starkey, vice president of Gum & Mints at Wrigley.
From 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. EST, Jay Pharoah and Orbit gum will be in and around Union Square Park, offering free gum and the chance to win a year’s supply of Orbit gum, by following the sweepstakes on Twitter.
