How many of these healthy pantry staples do you have at home already?

Kansas City Royals team nutritionist and author of the food blog The Nutrition Expert Mitzi Dulan has teamed up with American Express to make a Tumblr infographic for health-conscious home cooks, entitled the Top 20 Healthy Pantry Must-Haves (click on the infographic for full view).

From classic staples like low-sodium chicken broth and peanut butter to lesser-known pantry powerhouses like kefir (a fermented milk drink) and freekeh (an ancient Middle Eastern grain, also known as farik).

It’s a list full of healthy fats, protein, and energy-efficient items that will inevitably save you more than one blistery cold trip to the grocery store this winter.

Seasoned stockpilers will already recognize that a well-organized pantry has infinite charms, including the fact that it’s like having a miniature grocery store inside your own home.
