Narsai David: America's Test Kitchen Reinvents Trusted Family Cookbook
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)— America's Test Kitchen has released an all new 10th anniversary edition of their family cookbook with 1,100 new recipes. I sort of think of this as the 21st century Fannie Farmer Cookbook or the Joy of Cooking.
It's truly (and about as heavy as) an encyclopedia. It's just one volume and it's packed. If you had to have one cookbook and that's all you could have, this one would do it. There are 21 chapters and at the end, you'll want to check out the shopping guide.
The whole book itself will take you a couple of hours just to review and to get a sense of what's going on with it.
The meat section has your usual beef, pork and lamb, but how about Thai-red beef curry alongside All-American meatloaf? Or if you're into a lighter-colored meat, try the maple-glazed pork chops.
There's delectable vegetarian entrees and don't forget dessert. That section is remarkable in itself. Classics like chiffon cakes, pound cakes and bunt cakes are all here.
