Monaco Yacht Show Gears Up To Ply Yacht Owners With Champagne & Massages
The Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) is coming up quick and there is a lot in store for attendees. Starting on September 24 and running through to September 27, the 24-year-old event is expecting 500 exhibitors and 115 superyachts in the water (including 40 new builds), ranging in size from 24 (the Gigreca) to 91.5 meters (the Equanimity). The luxury yachting event certainly has a lot in store for casual guests, but they're focusing especially on yacht owners, captains, crews, and clients this year, striving to make sure everyone is happy and well taken care of.
Tomorrow night will see the inaugural cocktail party that will be kicking off this year's celebration. Not only will it be full of tasty drinks and gourmet food, the 500-guest party will also hold the MYS award ceremony that will honor the industry's top achievements. Winners will be selected for the Monaco Award, the Interior Design Award, the Exterior Design Award, the Finest New Yacht of the 2014 MYS, and the GreenPlus RINA Award. Tickets for the event are by invite only though, so if you already know you're attending, consider yourself lucky.
Daniele de Winter was selected as the event's Official Yachting Health and Beauty partner, which comes into play at the C&C Lounge for captains and crews. The Monaco-based skin care company will be providing facials and various types of massages, from the head to the feet. There will also be courses of aestheticism taught, giving tips on how to maintain healthy skin while out in the sun for days at a time. WorldWine will be in attendance, hosting wine tasting and oenology workshops every day to help people figure out the best wine pairings for their meals.
"The Monaco-based company DIVA will offer the fantastic experience of a private cinema evening to discover 'A journey into the Ocean' with champagne and appetizers," while My Way clothing and MYS will be offering some pretty cool fashion accessories, like traveling duffle bags from Mini and various clothing items. Of course, what would a lounge be without games? Captains and crews will be able to compete over table football, billiards, and video games. Additionally, there will be a reading corner for relaxing.
The Upper Deck Lounge (with an interior designed by Sabrina Monte-Carlo in collaboration with Paola Lenti, Baccarat, and Opera Gallery) will be open as a reception area for relaxing or for holding business meetings. The VIP reception area will be home to a collection of luxury timepieces from another MYS sponsor, Ulysse Nardin, while the Porsche 918 Spyder will also be in attendance. A Champagne bar is being offered by Taittinger and a restaurant by Fairmont Monte Carlo will be there to keep people full and happy.
