Michael Symon Moves Meals To Pittsburgh

Celebrity chef Michael Symon, a James Beard Award-winner and Food Network frequenter, has opened the new Bar Symon restaurant in the Pittsburgh International Airport.

Bar Symon is the chef's first airport dining location. The menu features many of chef Symon's signature dishes, such as the Lola burger with a fried egg and pickled red onions, Lola fries with sea salt and rosemary, and two varieties of baked macaroni and cheese, either with Cheddar, pulled pork, hot sauce, and scallions, or blue cheese, bacon, and parsley.

"I am so pleased to bring my passion for serving great food in a fun environment to airport travelers in Pittsburgh," said Symon. "Dining is all about the experience, and we've captured that with Bar Symon. I have no doubt it will quickly become a passenger favorite."

Bar Symon is partnering with local purveyors to enhance its farm-to-table cooking philosophy and to ensure access to ingredients, such as freshly baked bread from the Mediterra Bakehouse.

The interior of Bar Symon fuses Pittsburgh's history with the atmosphere of France's café culture. Authentic photographs of Pittsburgh culinary landmarks, such as the Pittsburgh Meat Market and Rothman's Restaurant and Bar, are displayed throughout the restaurant and sections of a former Pennsylvania bowling alley serve as the restaurant's table tops.
