Mercedes-Benz Extends Patron Partnership With The PGA Of America Through 2017
Luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz has been an Official Patron of The PGA since 2009 and considering they just renewed their partnership through 2017, their relationship isn't going anywhere. The renewal allows Mercedes-Benz to be recognized as the Official Patron and Official Vehicle of The PGA of America, the PGA Championship, and the Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid.
"We are delighted that Mercedes-Benz has once again recognized the great value of aligning with the PGA Professional and the game of golf by extending its relationship with The PGA of America and our high-profile spectator Championships," said Pete Bevacqua, chief executive officer of The PGA of America, in a prepared statement for the event. "Mercedes-Benz is known for its revolutionary automotive innovations, which are embodied in the first-class luxury in its iconic line of vehicles. These magnificent automobiles align beautifully with our spectator base, the impressive demographics of golf and the unparalleled quality and expertise of PGA Professionals."
The auto brand has also obtained U.S. rights as Official Patron of the 2014 Ryder Cup and global rights (excluding Europe) for 2016. Additionally, the PGA's Centennial celebration in 2016 is included with the extension. Mercedes-Benz will provide courtesy cars for the competing players and will have a dedicated "Loyalty Lot" to provide Mercedes customers with an upgraded parking experience when attending PGA events.
"The game of golf shares a natural affinity with the Mercedes-Benz brand, both rich in heritage and prestige, requiring skill, power and performance to succeed," said Stephen Cannon, president and CEO, Mercedes-Benz USA. "The Mercedes-Benz brand has been deeply involved with golf tournaments from around the world, and we are thrilled to continue this tradition in the U.S., as we extend our partnership with The PGA of America."
