McDonald's Dropping Chicken Selects, Fruit And Walnut Salad

Sad news for McDonald's lovers trying to be healthy; word is the national burger chain is dropping their Chicken Selects and Fruit & Walnut salads in favor of more limited, special menu items in 2013.

Accoridng to the AP, the chain is also considering dropping their line of Angus burgers (Angus Third Pounders). So perhaps this means more specialty items like McRibs, and Fish McBites. We expect a bacon sundae next. Selects chicken fingers were introduced in 2004; the fruit and walnut salad was introduced in 2005.

No word on whether any other chicken McNugget-like products are enterting the scene, but AP reports that new McWrap chicken sandwiches (larger versions of the Snack Wraps) are in the works, with three new sauces.

"As always, we are constantly evolving our menu and listening to our customers to meet their changing needs," McDonald's representative Danya Proud said in a statement. Does this mean extended McRib runs? An expanded line of McFlurries? Our college selves are salivating.
