In the realm of brewer's dinners, this one is as sure fire for beer geeks as any I have seen. However, the combo of one of Portland's most famous chefs, Gabriel Rucker, with Alan Sprints of Hair of the Dog will cost a pretty penny. This will be the first brewer's dinner at Rucker's Le Pigeon, and it's to celebrate the release of author Patrick Dawson's new book, Vintage Beer: A Taster's Guide to Brews That Improve Over Time. The dinner on Wednesday ,March 26th, will feature a five-course tasting menu from Le Pigeon's two-time James Beard Award-winning chef Gabriel Rucker paired with exclusive aged beers from Alan Sprints, founder of Hair of the Dog, a brewery respected across the beer universe for its focus on making vintage dated beers.
