Take A Hike

Date: Monday, November 17

November 17th is National Take A Hike Day! Get out and enjoy nature by hiking along the Los Liones Trail to Parker Mesa. The trail begins at the end of Los Liones Drive north of Sunset Boulevard. Los Liones is classified as moderately difficult and stretches seven miles from the Pacific Palisades to Topanga State Park. The hike is filled with lush greens and if you're lucky enough to go on a clear day, the views stretch out for miles. Once you get to Topanga State Park, you will be treated with a beautiful view overlooking downtown LA from the Parker Mesa Overlook. The trails are fairly shaded but bringing a water bottle or two is advisable. Free parking is offered near Los Liones Drive.

Keep Talking With Hoodie Allen

Date: Tuesday, November 18

Hoodie Allen is performing at the Wiltern Theatre this Tuesday on his "People Keep Talking World Tour." The tour comes hot off the heels of his first studio album, People Keep Talking, which was released in early October. People Keep Talking has soared up the charts peaking at number eight on the Billboard Hot 200 and number two on both the Top R&B/Hip Hop and Top Rap Album Billboard charts in the United States. Before hitting mainstream success with his debut album, Allen built a strong community of fans online by releasing a series of mixtapes and EPs that featured songs like "No Interruption," "You Are Not A Robot," and "James Franco." The concert starts at 7:00 p.m. and tickets start at $9 online.

See John Oliver Live

Date: Thursday, November 20

John Oliver from Last Week Tonight will be performing stand-up comedy at City National Grove of Anaheim this Thursday. Most people know Oliver from his role as Senior British Correspondent on The Daily Show with John Stewart but before hitting it big on the telly, this Birmingham, England native got his start in stand up. Oliver's stand up is similar to his on-screen character, which focuses on political satire and social commentary. The show starts at 8:00 p.m. and tickets are going for $55 and up online.

Enjoy Friday Night Sangria
