Kohler Festival Of Beer: May 27 - 29, 2011
Nothing says Memorial Day quite like great weather, beach trips, barbeques, and of course, ice cold beer. So to kick off our first long weekend of the summer, head to the 3rd annual Kohler Festival of
Beer, in Kohler, Wisconsin, for a weekend of demonstrations, pairings, and tastings from breweries from across the country.
Held in the Village of Kohler, the festival boasts a weekend of good food and great beer featuring brew-masters from Central Waters Brewery, Tenth and Blake Beer Company, and Left Hand Brewery Company. To accompany your beers, food pairings will be held throughout the weekend, offering beer-battered cod at the Wisconsin Beer-Battered Fish Fry, appetizers from The Horse & Plow, and classic Wisconsin cheeses.
The weekend opens Friday with a ceremonial tapping of the kegs, featuring unreleased and limited American beers in the Main Festival Tent. Make sure to stop by The Horse & Plow at The American Club for an After-Hours Tap Delight. On Saturday, don't miss the Beers Around the World samplings, celebrating the inaugural release of Jigger Ale in the U.S. Later in the day, say Cheers to Beers by
The Horse & Plow. On Sunday morning, head to Eggs and Kegs to pair your breakfast with a little brew sampling over at Cucina.
Open to the public, the Beer Garden will be held Saturday and Sunday and offers spectacular views of Wood Lake, the perfect scene to enjoy a cold one. For golf lovers, the Blackwolf Run Beer Challenge Tournament and Million-Dollar Shoot Off promises specialty beer samples served on each par 3 and during the shoot out.
All-day ticket prices range from $73.50 (for passes Saturday's Beers Around the World and Cheers to Beers) to $120.75 (for passes to Sunday's Eggs and Kegs, Shorts and Chefs, and Blues, Brews and BBQ). There are also single event tickets for starting from $26.25, and food pairings starting at $16.
