Imagine climbing into a raft on Costa Rica's Pacuare River for a thrilling 1.5 hour excursion to your jungle accommodations. Welcome to Pacuare Lodge.

The lodge is tucked into the rainforest of the central eastern part of the country and is a luxurious way to experience nature while preserving the environment and culture of the region. The 19 bungalows and suites are comfortable and tastefully decorated, some with river or jungle views and private plunge pools. Electricity is limited although the lanterns and candles that provide light make for a great adventure or romance. You won't go hungry as the restaurant serves up a healthy gourmet menu and wine list.

There are multiple ways to reach Pacuare Lodge but the exhilarating ride on class III and IV rapids is our preferred means of transport. While there, horseback ride, see the forest on a canopy tour,visit an indigenous community, or indulge in a spa treatment.

As an additional enticement, as if you needed one, the lodge is offering three nights at the price of two through December 15th. Rates include round trip transportation to the Lodge from San Jose, whitewater rafting excursions to and from the Lodge and three meals daily.
