Jets-Themed Cocktails

With Darrelle Revis out for the season with a torn ACL, it's looking like it's going to be another long season for Jets' fans. This just means that Sundays spent at MetLife Stadium require a larger focus on alcohol.

Yes, you can bring Bud Light for your tailgate, but why not get creative?

Bring a bottle or two of the NY Jets Uncorked wine for girlfriends or wives who don't dream about Jets tickets for Christmas. This limited-edition 2008 cabernet sauvignon made by Napa Valley winemaker Marco DiGiulio is delicious and goes well with all the classic tailgating dishes.

Next, make up a few cocktails to serve.

The Gang Green Cocktail: 12 ounces Sprite, 1 shot Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum, and 1 shot Johnny Walker Red Label

Tebow Time: Murray Hill sports bar Brother Jimmy's created a "No Sex on the Beach" cocktail in hopes that Tim Tebow would visit the bar, but pretty much any mocktail will do. Perfect for the designated driver for the evening.

The Dirty Sanchez: 1/3 ounce Bailey's Irish Cream, 1/3 ounce Jose Cuervo Especial gold tequila, and 1/3 ounce Kahlúa coffee liqueur

The Jet-Tini: 1 slice apple finely chopped, 1 tablespoon sour mix, 1 shot apple schnapps, 1/2 shot Smirnoff green apple vodka, ½ shot Smirnoff vanilla vodka

If cocktails like this Melon Cosmo Martini aren't really your thing, you can always just serve green beer. Just drop a drop or two of green food coloring into a bottle of light-hued beer (Amstel Light, Brooklyn Lager etc.).

To satisfy your stomachs before game time, come up with some Jets-themed dishes to go along with your cocktails. Get creative and have fun!
