Jamie Oliver Launching Massive 16-Restaurant Expansion
Britain isn't enough for Jamie Oliver, it seems; the celebrity chef has recently announced an international restaurant expansion that will increase the number of Jamie's Italian locations internationally from four to 20.
Reuters reports that Oliver plans to bolster his presence abroad with his casual Italian restaurant, as Britain already has 34 Jamie's Italians.
"In 2013 we will continue our international restaurant expansion and delivering outstanding products with real added value, great customer service, and a range of delicious and nutritious meals," John Jackson, of Jamie Oliver Group of Companies, said in a statement. The chain is already operating in Australia, New Zealand, Dubai, Ireland, Russia, Singapore, and Turkey.
The 5-year-old chain has posted profits of £7.8 million (about $11.9 million) in 2012, a 7.5 percent increase from 2011, Reuters reports. No word on where the next Jamie's Italian is headed, but the ever-busy Oliver is releasing his 15th cookbook, Save with Jamie, this September.
