IHOP To Roll Out Jelly Donut, Bananagram, Tiramisu Signature Pancakes
IHOP will be unveiling three new Signature Pancake items at locations nationwide in June, The Daily Meal has learned.
A rep from the breakfast-oriented chain, which has 1,565 locations worldwide as of March 2013, confirmed that Jelly Donut, Bananagram, and Tiramisu Signature Pancakes will be making their way onto menus by the end of next month.
The Jelly Donut pancake will be a stack of pancakes with a berry-based jelly donut-style filling in the middle of each, so as you eat the stack the filling seeps out, giving the impression of a jelly-filled donut. To achieve this effect, the pancakes will be pressed down in the center by the cook after they're flipped, creating a well.
The Bananagram pancake is modeled after s'mores, with fresh bananas, marshmallow cream, chocolate sauce, and crushed graham crackers sprinkled on top.
Finally, the Tiramisu pancakes will be "just like tiramisu, but with pancakes instead of ladyfingers and no rum," according to the rep. Most likely, this means a coffee-flavored creamy topping.
The release of these items follows up on their most recent new menu addition, brioche French toast, which was introduced to menus nationwide in April.
