Fun Rice Krispies Peeps For A Unique Easter Basket Treat
Inspired by the original Rice Krispies Treat recipe and this awesome Serious Eats recipe, this treat uses the classic Easter candy Peeps to make a beautiful, multicolored treat. Use Easter-themed cookie cutters and you'll have the perfect addition to your Easter basket!
What You'll Need:
- 7 cups puffed rice cereal, preferably Rice Krispies
- 20 Peeps
- 20 Marshmallows
- 5 tablespoons butter
- One 8-ounce bag candy-coated chocolates, such as M&M's
- Cookie cutter
Step One: Melt the butter in a large saucepan. Add in the Peeps and marshmallows and stir until melted. Remove from the heat.
Step Two: Pour in the cereal and candy and stir it until it is thoroughly combined.
Step Three: Using a buttered spatula, evenly press mixture into 13-by-9-by-2-inch coated pan. Allow it to cool.
Step Four: Turn the pan over and use a cookie cutter to cut into the mixture.
