Fun Rice Krispies Peeps for a Unique Easter Basket Treat

Rice Krispies Peeps

Sweet, chocolaty, and totally worth the calories, these little treats are great for your kid’s Easter basket.


Inspired by the original Rice Krispies Treat recipe and this awesome Serious Eats recipe, this treat uses the classic Easter candy Peeps to make a beautiful, multicolored treat.

Use Easter-themed cookie cutters and you’ll have the perfect addition to your Easter basket!

What You’ll Need:

  • 7 cups puffed rice cereal, preferably Rice Krispies
  • 20 Peeps
  • 20 Marshmallows 
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • One 8-ounce bag candy-coated chocolates, such as M&M’s
  • Cookie cutter

Step One: Melt the butter in a large saucepan. Add in the Peeps and marshmallows and stir until melted. Remove from the heat.

Step Two: Pour in the cereal and candy and stir it until it is thoroughly combined.

Step Three: Using a buttered spatula, evenly press mixture into 13-by-9-by-2-inch coated pan. Allow it to cool.

Step Four: Turn the pan over and use a cookie cutter to cut into the mixture.
