THE BASICS

What: Dating back to 1997, the 2014 Fringe Festival takes over the city for over two weeks each September. This year, expect performances from over 150 artists, musicians, troupes and groups in genres including dance, theater, music, spoken word and more.

When: September 5 – 21, 2014

Where: Performances take place all over the city in museums, galleries, restaurants, concert halls, theaters, etc.

SCHEDULE & TICKETS

Schedule: This year's Fringe Fest includes hundreds of performances, including 11 Presented Fringe shows (formerly the Live Arts half of the festival) and tons of Neighborhood Fringe shows (formerly the Philly Fringe). With so many events, there's just no way to list them all here. Luckily, the FringeArts website has numerous ways to sift through the events and find exactly what type of performance you're looking for.

Tickets: Buy tickets to individual events here, or purchase membership and get 30% off access to all of the events on the schedule. Attendees can also show up about one hour before any show and buy tickets at the door, but take note – that option is usually cash-only.

OTHER INFO

Festival Bar: Refuel at the Fringe Fest's new restaurant, La Peg, and Festival Bar, where there are late night performances every night during the festival.
