Goin' To The Lake: Frank & Maxie Visit Watson Hunting Camp (Day 1)
WATSON, Minn. (WCCO) — July is almost over, and Minnesotans are finally enjoying some glorious summer weather. We've been celebrating the season by Goin' to the Lake every week.
On Thursday, Frank Vascellaro and Mike Max headed to Watson, Minn., which is about 135 miles west of the Twin Cities.
There, the two visited Watson Hunting Camp, which offers high-quality hunting experiences in the heart of the Lac qui Parle Wildlife refuge.
But on the way out, the two took a stop at the Swensson Farm Museum.

In Lac qui Parle Wildlife refuge, hunters can take aim at all sorts of game, but they flock to the area to hunt Canada Geese.
As such, Frank and Maxie just had to take a look at the hunting hot spot.

Lac qui Parle Lake is the biggest lake in the area, and it's part of Lac qui Parle State Park. Frank and Maxie hit the lake to do a different kind of hunting – bow fishing.
The guys took aim at some carp.
See which of them actually hit something.

Nearby Watson lies the Lauritsen family farm.
That's where WCCO-TV reporter John Lauritsen grew up, and he showed Frank and Maxie around the old pig farm.
The guys also fired arrows off the back deck.
