A manufactory that designs and creates its own movements in-house, German watchmakers Glashütte Original have been hand making timepieces for over 165 years. Recreating their successful Senator timepieces for the 21st century, the Skeletonized Edition has been updated to give the new watch a distinct personality of beauty and tradition. It's inner workings are true creativity, and easily rival other skeletal creations in precision and design. With dual, anti-glare, sapphire crystals enclosing both the front and back of the watch face, its components, detailing and quality craftsmanship can easily be seen.
Featuring Glashütte Original's own Calibre 49-18, the inner workings are kept in sight within a 42mm, polished, 18 kt red-gold case with a 40 hour power reserve. Made of hand-carved, galvanized silver, the skeletonized dial is surrounded by Roman numerals and a black, railroad-minute ring. The back is decorated with double-sunburst winding wheels, blued screws, hand-engraved plates and lettering, and swan-neck adjustment. Fitted with a black, Louisiana alligator leather strap, the Senator Manual Winding Skeletonized Edition is almost more of a work of art than a timepiece—we like to think of it as a Mona Lisa we can wear on our wrists.
