Furry Tails: Pokie & Emma Are Searching For Good Homes
Are you looking to bring a pet into your home? Local animal shelters are a great place to find a furry companion. So, as part of Furry Tails, I'll be doing an ongoing feature on adoptable pets from local animal shelters once a week. If you have room in your heart and are looking to bring a lovable ball of fur into your home, maybe one of these guys is meant to be a part of your family!

Pokie
Animal Friends
Smoky-colored Pokie is a senior cat looking for a good home! He loves to play, but also loves his cat naps, too!
Animal Friends says:
"Senior pets make wonderful companions, and our boy Pokie is no exception. 13-years-young, Pokie has been with us since March and is still waiting for a forever home to call his own.
"Pokie is not your normal senior cat. He's still got plenty of energy in him and he loves to play. After a good play session, he's happy to curl up next to you on the couch (or in a window with a good view) and take a cat nap.
"Adopt Pokie or any of our senior pets this month and find out why senior pets make great friends!"

If you can help, come to Animal Friends at 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15237 or call 412-847-7002. For more information on how you can adopt any of the pets at Animal Friends, visit their website here!

Emma
Animal Rescue League
Emma is a little bunny with a big heart! Do you have room in your heart for her? She needs a loving home!
Animal Rescue League says:
"Isn't she darling?! Emma looks just like a real lion — well, minus being several hundred pounds and, well, she's a vegan ;) Emma is only about three pounds, and has the most beautiful cinnamon colored-fur. Emma is only 8-months-old and came from Erie where she was bought a few months back by a college student who found out pretty quickly that he could not properly care for her while in school. Emma has a large personality squeezed into a tiny body. She enjoys binkying (these are bunny dances done in mid-air) and she's a neat freak. Always grooming herself. I think she'd make a great companion rabbit to any human, and possibly even to another neutered male rabbit."
To find out more about how to adopt Emma, visit the Animal Rescue League's website at this link!
For more information on the other adoptable animals at the shelter, visit www.animalrescue.org. The Animal Rescue League is located at 6620 Hamilton Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pa.
