Furry Tails: Howl-O-Ween At The Farmers Market

The last Farmers Market of the season in Market Square is going to be a howling good time!

The family-friendly fun will feature all your favorite vendors, as well as trick-or-treating for kids, Halloween music, dance lessons, and for the four-legged attendees, a costume photo contest for man's best friend.

The Dog Spot featured on Pittsburgh Today Live:

The competition is organized by the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership and sponsored by The Dog Stop.

"Thursday, we're going to have a costume contest at the Farmers Market. It's going to be great. You can come down; enjoy the activities with the family, with the dogs. We'll have treats, and we're going to have contest winners, which is really exciting," said Chris Kane, the owner of The Dog Stop. "So bring your dog down in costume, bring the kids, bring yourself, come look at the dogs, enjoy the time."

They'll select the cutest dogs, and contest winners will be contacted later.

Then, on Halloween, The Dog Stop will be offering free daycare for pups that come in costume. They have locations on the East End, South Hills, the Strip District, Sewickley and Monroeville.

They will also be hosting a costume contest.

"We actually have our own photo contest," said Kane. "We put everything on Facebook and Instagram, really use the social media. And then we do free daycare prizes for that, too."
