Food Of The Day: Biscuits At Empire Biscuit
If you live in New York City, specifically the East Village, and have not heard of or dined at Empire Biscuit yet, then stop reading this and walk to 198 Ave. A. The talk of the city is this recently opened 24-hour biscuit restaurant. Can I just say, FINALLY! How many drunken nights have been spent wandering below 14th Street, looking to satiate the munchies? OK well I won't share my number, but Empire Biscuit has answered the prayers of the 4 a.m. East Village food foragers. Founders Yonadav Tsuna and Jonathan Price always knew this would be a 24-hour deal. An endless combo of flaky biscuits plus jams and toppings equals seriously happy people. I am far from a vegetarian, but thoroughly enjoyed one of their vegetarian options: fried eggplant with toasted walnut and onion pâté — yum. All this biscuit talk has evoked a craving — you'll know where to find me.
