Food and Football in Madrid
Once the official "first day of spring" passes (March 20), the flood gates are reopened for travelers to Europe. Of course, many don’t stop jet-setting across the pond just because it’s a little chilly, but the European continent really brightens up come, say, April. So to kick off the start of the season, Madrid’s Hotel Villa Magna is offering three packages to lure travelers of all types.
The first is for football fans — that’s soccer to us Americans. Their Real Madrid Football Package includes two private VIP box tickets to a match at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, Royal Suite accommodations, airport transfers, welcome amenities, and daily gourmet breakfasts. (Starts from €6,000/night for two nights minimum, and is valid through Dec. 31.)
Then, their Easter Package is perfect for families. It offers a posh room (upgrade depending on availability), a bottle of Spanish cava and homemade chocolate Easter eggs on arrival, welcome cocktails, gourmet breakfast spread daily, private parking, and late checkout. It’s from €295/night and is valid March 30 to April 9.
Lastly, they are offering a Gourmet Package, which includes deluxe accommodations, welcome amenities, daily gourmet breakfasts, and a three-course dinner for two at Restaurante Villa Magna or Tse Yang Cantonese Restaurant complete with sommelier-chosen wine pairings. This package starts from €360/night with a minimum two-night stay and is valid through Dec. 31. (Photo courtesy of Hotel Villa Magna)
