Enjoy good old-fashioned fun at the LA County Fair. This four-week event features unique Los Angeles exhibits as well as the traditional county fair activities such as agriculture displays, pig races, horse races, rides and delicious treats such as fried Oreos and funnel cake. New to the County Fair this year is "Luminasia," an Asian-themed lantern exhibit which is sponsored by Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa and will light up the fairgrounds with life-size, custom and handmade lanterns. The LA County Fair makes it easy for everyone to visit and provides wheelchair services including standard and electric wheelchairs, package services and lockers for your convenience.

When the crowds die down and the cooler temperatures sweep the majestic oceanfront of Santa Monica, a visit to the historic Santa Monica Pier is exactly what your fall plans should include. Since its restoration, the Pier has become the beach city's hot spot all year long for amusement, fishing and great local cuisine. The historical Southern California icon gives you views of the Pacific Ocean you will not see anywhere else and if you time it right, the autumn season brings out a rich, deep teal color to the ocean. This 127-acre location features an exquisite botanical garden and historical landmarks, which, upon entering, will surely take your breath away. The fall season is full of outdoor activities including the docent-led adult walking tours. Taking place during the week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays beginning at 10 a.m., you will be delighted with the rich history and lush fauna. These tours begin in October and reservations are not required.

An Italian tradition that began with new immigrants to the United States in 1926, the Feast of San Gennaro has become both a religious and commemorative event that celebrates the Italian culture, food and family. This year, the Feast of San Gennaro Los Angeles will take place September 26, 27 and 28 in Hollywood. The customary Los Angeles Procession of St. Gennaro will be held on Saturday, September 27 at 12 p.m., which will be followed by a mass on the event's center stage and is conducted by Msgr. Antonio Cacciapuoti, Msgr. Paul Montoya and Fr. Raniero Alessandrini as well as visiting clergy. If the religious aspect of the weekend is not your forte, you can certainly participate in the other many activities surrounding the event. It will feature authentic Italian food from local restaurants, live music and free rides for children in the Kidz Korner including teacups and a Ferris wheel. In addition, patrons can find out interesting ancestral information at the genealogy booth or enjoy a fun round of bingo or bocce.
