Just a few days ago, users of AskReddit questioned fast-food employees about which foods they would personally avoid. And they sure know the dirty little secrets of kitchen prep.

At Steak 'n Shake, it’s not called a Wisconsin butter burger for nothing. According to a former employee, there is a quarter stick of butter melted onto each patty.
User Cozmo23, a former Wendy’s employee, admits that the chain collects burger patties that sit on the grill too long and throws them into a bucket for later chili preparation. When it’s chili time, "they take it out, boil it, chop it up, and dump them in the chili," says Cozmo.
A former McDonald’s employee tells readers that the seemingly healthy grilled chicken is doused with liquid margarine to keep it from sticking to the grill. And their sweet tea sure is sweet — each batch of McD’s tea is sweetened with full pound bags of pure sugar.
How does McDonald’s, the dirty detail star, respond to these testimonials? They tell The Daily Meal that "As with any job, I think we can all agree that there are ups and downs, good days and bad. We believe these posts reflect that." Good day or bad, it might not even be worth the chance….
