When James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan married Keely Shaye Smith, the two kept it classy like 007 would with a six-tier carrot wedding cake fashioned after Jack and Jacqueline Kennedy's cake. The cake designed by Little Venice Cake Company included an elegant hand-piped fleur-de-lis design around each tier. The $2,430 or more wedding cake was displayed on a topiary tablecloth illustrated with gardenias, orange blossoms, white roses, and stephanotis. To add even more luxury, Keely's mother crystallized edible flowers to give the cake a dew-like aura. 

Paul McCartney and Heather Mills’ $4,500 Chocoholic Wedding Cake

This couple went crazy for chocolate in their 2002 wedding, where Paul McCartney and Heather Mills treated their guests to a four-tier chocolate cake. The Beatles star gave the people what they wanted with the $4,500 chocolate confection that was reportedly made by Choccywoccydoodah of Brighton. Sounds like a song.

Kim and Kanye's $6,685 Seven-Foot-Tall Wedding Cake

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's recent nuptials spanned days and countries, so an embellished wedding cake was to be expected of the reality TV mega star and the "rap god." It took three people to carry the giant, multi-tiered cake with a price tag of about £4,000 (about $6,685). The seven-tier seven-foot-tall cake was all white cake with fruit layers covered in white frosting. Kimye will have leftover cake for days.

The $7,000 cake was so large that the top two tiers had to be removed just to get it through the doors. The sugared flower-adorned cake reached a lofty six feet tall.

Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky were gluten-free before it was cool. Their 2010 wedding cake made of vanilla sponge cake was created with a gluten-free flour blend, layers of chocolate mousse and covered in vanilla fondant, and measured in at four feet tall with nine tiers. The  $11,000 wedding cake weighed almost 500 pounds and was lavishly decorated with 1,000 sugar flowers in the shape of roses, calla lilies, and orchids.

The $20,000, eight-foot-tall cake by Patrick Hansen tipped the scale at an astounding 600 pounds. The tiers alternated between black and white, simple in comparison to their larger-than-life wedding. The massive chocolate-chip marble cake was decorated with buttercream frosting. The cake leftovers probably lasted longer than their 72-day marriage.

Sterling silver leafed stripes appeared throughout the dramatic cake along with the lavish layering of red and purple sugar roses.

The princess could not just have one wedding cake; the matrimonial day included 27 wedding cakes and a five-foot-tall main cake that supposedly took 14 weeks to prepare. The wedding cake, designed by David Avery of the Royal Naval Cookery School, was decorated with roses, lilies of the valley, and orchids, along with the Prince's family's royal coat of arms. The seven-tiered confection was five feet high, 200 pounds, 32 inches in diameter, covered with 3,000 white icing roses, and filled with Grand Marnier buttercream. The cake took two months for pastry chef Cedric Barbaret to create. On top of all that, wedding guests were treated to individual cakes filled with chocolate truffle and decorated with a single rose on top. Donald Trump is always "thinking big."

Prince William and Kate Middleton definitely went all out for their magnificent wedding with an eight-tiered fruit cake with white icing and 900 sugar paste flowers ringing in at a royal $80,000. Designed by Fiona Cairns, the elegant cake included 17 different kinds of  symbolic flowers. Displayed on the seventh tier, the English rose, Scottish thistle, Welsh daffodil, and Irish shamrock represented the home nations. On the sixth tier were the elaborately scrolled initials of the couple encircled by sugar lily of the valley flowers, symbolizing sweetness and humility. And we'll never be royals.
