What’s Happening in Washington, DC: August 15, 2016

District this week
As D.C.’s food scene continues to hum like a well-oiled machine, foodies get more options to enjoy new or unique culinary experiences. Summertime used to be slow on this front, but with so many places vying for our attention there is plenty to choose from including luxury cruises on the Chesapeake Bay featuring gourmet food and drink, choosy kid menu options, and a bubbles, oysters, and brew event that gives Labor Day weekend a bit of class. It’s another banner week in food and drink in the District, so enjoy the spread.

Burton’s Grill & Bar to Host Fundraiser to Benefit YMCA Loudoun County
If you missed the recent opening of Burtons Grill & Bar in Sterling, Virginia, head to their fundraiser on Sunday, September 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.  Burton’s Grill & Bar is committed to preparing delicious, nutritious food and offers regular menus plus vegetarian, gluten, and pale- friendly menus. On September 25, Burton’s will launch their new choosy kids menu, (look for the {B} symbol on the menu) and 50% of every sale from this new menu will benefit YMCA Loudoun County. The choosy kids menu is based on USDA’s newest nutrition guidelines, and it lets parents choose the ingredients and preparation method of their child’s dishes. So grab the kids and head over there.
