Trader Joe's Customer Claims She Found A Dead Lizard In Bagged Kale

A woman in Washington, D.C., is claiming she found a dead lizard in a bag of ready-to-cook kale purchased from Trader Joe's at 1101 25th St. NW. Grace Goldstein uploaded a photo of the morbid finding to Instagram and Twitter captioned, "@traderjoes why is there a lizard in my bag of kale? (puke-face emojis) have never been so appropriate. #traderjoes #kale #lizard #lizardinkale #vomit."

According to People.com, Goldstein, who works as a project manager, put the late reptile into her freezer to preserve its body.

"We had reached out to TJ corporate and weren't sure if we were also going to bring it back to the local store where we bought it and didn't want a decomposing lizard in the fridge," the unhappy customer told the outlet, adding that she's "really into spinach now."

Goldstein's friend Kate Berner uploaded an additional photo of the lizard in its leafy green graveyard to Twitter. Another Trader Joe's customer named Kendra Barkoff Lamy replied: "Omg! We had a hair that was 2 feet long that came out of a #traderjoes ice cream sandwich." She attached a photo of the evidence.

The Daily Meal has reached out to Trader Joe's for comment.

Unfortunately, foreign objects wind up in food more often than they should. In February, a woman videotaped a live worm wriggling around in her packaged fish from Costco, and another person alleged that she found "half a rat" in a bag of frozen vegetables purchased at Aldi.
