Lakeside At Wynn: Seafood, Steak And Much More

Located adjacent to the SW Steakhouse at Wynn Las Vegas is the beautiful Lakeside restaurant. Fall and winter are the best times to visit with mild outdoor temperatures at tables on the patio alongside the Lake of Dreams.

The interior dining room is beautiful with tree root pillars, plush bright orange comfy booths and beige chairs, but one of the main reasons to visit Lakeside is the view of the lake, towering waterfall and nightly electronic show.  Seafood lovers will enjoy the wild-caught Hawaiian fish, huge seafood platter and oven roasted lobster and crab dishes.

Appetizer standouts include the jumbo shrimp cocktail, King crab and avocado with taro chips, tuna sashimi, foie gras with apples and seafood salad with scallops, octopus and potatoes.

Seafood main dishes include snapper with coconut rice cake, monchong with bok choy, swordfish with chickpea fries, mahi mahi with ratatouille, wild Alaskan halibut and Scottish salmon. The oven roasted lobster and King crab options are prepared plain or with a red chili rub and drawn, yuzu-basil or spicy harissa butter.

Carnivores will appreciate the filets, rib-eye and New York prime cuts complete with grilled asparagus, whipped potato, crab mac n cheese and black truffle spinach sides.

There's also an entire page devoted to vegetarian dishes including ricotta dumplings, charred abalone mushroom, mushroom cannelloni and a vegetable curry.

Sweets include a pineapple upside down cake, tiramisu soufflé, sundae, cookies and cream baked Alaska, hot chocolate cake and coconut pavlova.

The food is delicious but many come for the romantic setting and the magical mechanical free show featuring an animated singing frog, fiberglass head that rises from the lake and opening and closing flowers that appear every 30 minutes.

I try to visit Lakeside on every trip to Vegas to sample fresh seafood, great steaks and to admire the giant singing amphibian.
