Kraft Heinz's New CFO David Knopf Is 29 Years Old
David Knopf has been appointed chief financial officer at Kraft Heinz at the age of 29.
According to Fortune, Knopf is Kraft Heinz's youngest ever CFO. He will be replacing 42-year-old Paulo Basilio, who will stay on at the company as president of U.S. business.
The processed food giant is counting on the young CFO for sales growth. According to Bloomberg, Kraft Heinz has not posted any growth since its 2015 merger, orchestrated by 3G Capital and Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (which is headed by noted Cherry Coke aficionado Warren Buffett).
Knopf first joined Kraft Heinz as a result of that merger. The 2010 Princeton graduate began as an investment banking analyst for Goldman Sachs, and then moved on to Onex as a private equity associate before continuing to 3G Capital. At 3G Capital he worked on several large acquisitions, including Burger King and Heinz, for which he received his nomination on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Finance list.
Knopf could be headed for a slot on America's 50 most powerful people in food for 2017!
