Jimmy's Famous American Tavern Opens Newest Location In Woodland Hills

Jimmy's Famous American Tavern has opened its fourth Southern California location at The Village in Westfield Topanga mall. This location will provide the same menu offerings of regional American comfort foods as the chain's other restaurants in Brea, San Diego, and Dana Point.

Recognized as a "Green Certified Restaurant," Jimmy's Famous American Tavern has a relaxed décor with polished raw concrete floors, recycled woods, and custom lighting. In addition, the establishment has a mid-century modern and industrial architectural design. Diners have a variety of seating options including leather, circular comfy booths, community tables, and an open air patio that faces the Village walkway.

Featuring American comfort food, the menu includes a large variety of starters and family-style dishes, including calamari with crispy sage, shrimp cocktail, ale battered onion rings, warm Cheddar and bacon fondue, meatballs with spicy wing sauce, charred Brussels sprouts, whiskey shrimp, and spicy Ahi poke. Soups and salads include an Angus steak and black bean chili, clam chowder, romaine and bacon salad, grilled Sante Fe Caesar salad, spice crusted Ahi tuna salad, and a grilled apricot chile-glazed salmon salad.

There is also a good variety of fire-grilled flatbreads such as pear, black fig jam, and blue cheese; pepperoni, ham, and sausage; burrata with tomatoes and basil; and a forest mushroom medley. Sandwiches and burgers include items like the classic cheeseburger, spicy burger, cowboy burger with onion fritters and BBQ sauce, and a French dip sandwich. Larger plates feature items like pan-roasted sea bass, BBQ-spiced salmon, gumbo, buttermilk fried chicken, roasted Jidori chicken, filet mignon, flatiron pepper steak, ribeye steak, and bourbon–chipotle BBQ baby back ribs with Cheddar jalapeño potatoes.

Sides are large enough for two and include charred Brussels sprouts and bacon, Cheddar jalapeño potato gratin, white truffle mac and cheese, garlic mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and asparagus with lemon butter.

Desserts are delectable and enormous. The sugary selection showcases Bananageddeon with bananas, vanilla cream, pecan blondie crumbles, butter pecan ice cream, and salty rum caramel sauce; warm chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge; dark chocolate mousse; trio of carrot walnut cupcakes; and a warm seasonal fruit crisp.
