JBF Taste America Tour Makes Stop In The City Of Brotherly Love

This fall, 10 food-centric cities will be stops on the James Beard Foundation's annual Taste America tour. World-renowned JBF Award winners and local chefs-turned-cult-foodie-heroes will be making appearances at dinners and serving up multi-course benefit dinners for guests.

On Friday, October 13, at the Museum of the American Revolution, Philadelphia's own James Beard Award winner Greg Vernick of Vernick Food & Drink and JBF All-Star Marc Murphy of Benchmarc Restaurants will be collaborating on what is sure to be an inventive and delicious meal. Vernick and Murphy will be accompanied by pastry chef Pat O'Malley of The Hungry Pigeon and JBF Award winner Jean-Marie Lacroix of Brûlée Catering by Chef Jean-Marie Lacroix. Our taste buds can hardly wait to see what works of (food) art these four have in store for us!

Of course, it would not be a benefit dinner without an equally awesome pre-dinner cocktail hour and reception. The VIP reception begins at 5 p.m. and will feature creations by Cuban cuisine master Guillermo Pernot (Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar). At 6 p.m., guests can partake in tastings by Philadelphia chefs Scott Anderson (Elements & Mistral), Camille Cogswell (Zahav), Nichoas Elmi (Laurel adn ITV), Nate Horowitz (Morimoto Philadelphia), and Richard Landau (Vedge Restaurant Group). To close out the night, guests can attend an exclusive after-party at Aqimero, a Latin wood-burning grill and lounge situated in the luxe Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

Hungry for more? On Saturday, get up close and personal with these James Beard Award winners when Marc Murphy and Scott Anderson will each give a free cooking demonstration at Sur La Table—King of Prussia.
