It's The Bloody Weekend At Hotel Bel Air

Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air has kicked up their weekend brunch with the addition of new handcrafted Bloody Mary cocktails. In addition to their tradition Bloody Mary made with Tito vodka and a delicious house made mix, diners can choose from the Bunny Mary with Ketel One vodka, carrots and spices; the Tomatillo Bloody with St. George chile infused vodka, tomatillo, cucumber and fresh lime and the Purple People Eater with Absolut vodka, beets, purple carrots, pepper and citrus.

I swung by to try the new cocktails out and to celebrate my friend Richard's birthday. Richard loves vodka so he was the perfect choice to get a second option on the new cocktails. Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel Air is always my first choice for a celebratory meal or to host friends from out of town. The grounds and patio are beautiful and the restaurant is perfect for both an intimate dinner, birthday brunch or group lunch.

We were able to sample each new Bloody Mary custom made cocktail and they were all delicious. Each one had a unique flavor, presentation and color. Richard loved the unique vodkas used in the cocktails. Our fave was the spicy Tomatillo Bloody.

We also enjoyed a beautiful plate of fresh berries and melon, Maryland Blue crab cakes with basil pesto aioli and tomato relish; tortilla soup with crema fresca, chicken and avocado; smoked salmon benedict with house cured smoked salmon, hollandaise, heirloom tomato chutney and avocado on Brioche toast and a cheeseburger with garlic aioli, shallot jalapeno marmalade and fries.

Service was impeccable.  Our waiter suggested we try their special "Blossoming Teas." I chose the Halo option with a flowering white tea infused with blueberry and white peach essence. They also offer a Beach Flower green tea with lychee and cantaloupe.  The presentation is gorgeous. A glass teapot arrived at our table and we were able to watch as the blossoming flower flavored the water turning it into a delicate and delicious tea.

The waiters and service staff made our visit extra special by presenting Richard with a strawberry gelato bombe topped with toasted meringue and a happy birthday message. We also enjoyed a decadent butterscotch budino with a Tahitian vanilla brioche donut.

Everything at Hotel Bel-Air, from the atmosphere to the food, is exceptional. It's worth a trip anytime, but especially now for brunch al fresco with an innovative Bloody Mary.
