Twiggs Bakery opened by selling some of the city’s top baked goods all under one roof. Now, its wide-ranging menu offers house-made cakes, cookies, pastries. Pick up a loaf of the German Stollen, filled with rum-soaked fruits, or the festive spice cake, seasoned with cinnamon, cardamom, and allspice.

 

Bread and Cie

In 1994, Bread and Cie opened to the public as the first artisan bread bakery in San Diego. Today, the bread shop still serves those delicious artisan loaves but has also expanded. During the holiday season, grab the limited-time-only Büche de Noël or a fruit cake that guests will actually eat.
