DOSA San Francisco Celebrates The Launch Of Sujātā WHITE With Exclusive Wine Dinner

San Francisco's very first South Indian Restaurant, DOSA, is excited to announce a new special wine dinner and partnership featuring sommelier Todd Smith and iconic winemaker Jeff Emery of Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyards and Quinta Cruz. He has worked with DOSA on its private label, Sujātā. DOSA will be hosting an exclusive wine dinner tonight, June 29th at 6:30 p.m.

Jeff Emery will be there live to tell the story behind the wines and each pairing. This intimate supper will be set in the mesmerizing Mezzanine at DOSA Fillmore. This is truly a one-in-a-lifetime type of event for wine enthusiasts and foodies can come together to explore their taste buds under one roof with an ethnic flair.

The dinner will include a three-course meal with wine pairings, each carefully selected to complement the burst of summery flavors and fresh ingredients. You have the opportunity to meet Jeff Emery and Todd Smith and ask about how they pair wine with DOSA'S South Indian cuisine.

What is DOSA's private wine label Sujātā exactly? Sujātā was made with two Iberian grape varieties: Albarino and Garnacha Blanca (Grenache Blanc). They have been fermented slowly but surely, utilizing yeasts designed to emphasize the expression of the potent aromas with a fruity hint.

After fermentation, never seeking oak, the wine was then poured in stainless steel, never seeing oak. In fact, Emery actually blended this wine with DOSA wine director and sommelier, Todd Smith. They used freshly grown organic grapes from famed grower, Markus Bokisch. These blends were created intentionally in order collaborate well with South Indian food.

The vital acids from the fruit are a match-made in heaven with coconut sauces and yogurt dishes. Even the spicier dishes can outlast the dry aspects of the wine. Additionally, the dynamic of the sweet and savory flavor combination will teleport your taste buds straight to India.

Enjoy authentic and innovative South Indian cuisine and rich culture along with a world-class spice-inspired cocktail program at either of DOSA's two San Francisco locations. Executive chef/co-owner, Anjan Mitra and his wife and co-owner Emily Mitra have showcased their exotic dining experience in the Mission and Fillmore districts. The menu offers a wide variety of tantalizing, unique dishes as well as an extensive cocktail and wine list crafted by sommelier/wine director Todd Smith. Definitely a must-try!
